Auckland is hosting the 36th America's Cup in 2021. To ensure the event is a global success, an alliance has been formed between central government, the Auckland Council and the private sector. The Wynyard Edge Alliance will deliver the critical infrastructure and facilities that the city needs to host this major event.
The Emerging Talent Network is delighted to invite you to a site visit of the Americas Cup construction project hosted by the Wynyard Edge Alliance. Last month the Alliance hit a key milestone, with the operational handover of the base being used by Emirates Team New Zealand. The team is now progressing piling works for the Hobson Wharf extension, forming another breakwater at the end of Halsey Wharf, completing repair works on Wynyard Wharf, and establishing building pads for the American and British syndicate bases.
The site visit will kick off at 3:30pm sharp. You will need to bring a hi-vis vest, to participate in the site tour. After seeing the progress first hand, we will then head to KPMG's offices for a panel discussion on the wider implications of the Americas Cup project for Wynyard Quarter and Auckland, followed by networking and refreshments kindly sponsored by KPMG.
