What is 'The Inner Circle'?Infrastructure NZ's Emerging Talent Network is pleased to invite you to a close-knit interactive session with an industry leader exclusively for our members. We call it ‘The Inner Circle’.In these exclusive sessions, an industry leader leads a discussion with a small group of ET members on a hot topic in infrastructure. You will be participating, not just listening, so bring your questions and opinions along, find out about our expert, and what they are leading in their sector.
This virtual session will be limited to 10 people, so you’ll need to be quick to snap up your place at the ‘virtual’ table.
Our Next Industry LeaderThe Central/Local Government Three Waters Reform Programme is addressing systemic issues facing our water sector by reforming funding arrangements and service delivery into larger scale providers. The programme has established Taumata Arowai, the new Water Services Regulator, which will bring a new framework for drinking water and oversight for stormwater and wastewater. After years of debate over delivery models, the Government has announced its intention to support public multi-regional models for water service delivery, with a preference for shared ownership by local authorities.
A Three Waters Steering Committee was also established to support progress towards reform and with its composition of local and central government leaders will balance the priorities of NZ communities as well as government entities.
Colin Crampton is the Chief Executive Officer of Wellington Water, an example of what reformed water service delivery in New Zealand could look like. At last year’s Building Nations Symposium, Colin discussed the journey Wellington Water is taking to value water, replace its commodity view of the water cycle with Te Ao Māori perspectives, and take a catchment-wide approach to water management.
If you are interested in learning more about what water reform means for local government, join Colin for this virtual Inner Circle session.
The Inner Circle sessions are limited to one representative per organisation on a first come, first served basis.
